Death of Kings

by Timothy Mount

Death of Kings
Part of the The Dark God's Son series:
  • Death of Kings

When Maolmordha’s son is delivered to Lournedal, king of the Ildra’kai, the kingdom clamors for his destruction, but compassion stays his hand. Raising him as his son, Lournedal helps suppress the dark rages within Muireadac. However, when war ravages the land, the dark god’s son takes up the sword.

While his might proves instrumental in defeating the enemy, battle lust unleashes the malevolence Muireadac has struggled to contain. Fulfilling his father’s designs, Muireadac turns against the man who raised him, intent upon eradicating the Ildra’kai and unleashing damnation. While a rakish prince marshals an army to stem the tide of encroaching darkness, the key to countering Muireadac’s might lies in the hands of a rag-tag fellowship embarking on a seemingly hopeless quest.

About the Author

Timothy Mount originated in Los Angeles then bounced around California before his family settled down in Bakersfield. After winning some state and national debate champions with Bakersfield College that he is wont to brag about (seriously, if you ever meet him, don’t bring up the topic of college debate: just don’t) he was awarded a scholarship to Pace University.

After graduating he decided it was a good idea to take out all the student loans in the world in an aborted attempt to get a PhD in English Lit, settling for an M.A. instead (also, don’t bring up the topic of student loans if you meet him. On second thought, just don’t talk to the guy). He then settled into a career in teaching in New Jersey with the obligatory wife, kids, and cats

When Furio Antwil finds his sister brutally murdered, presumably by his own prince, he has no idea the journey his quest for vengeance will take him on. . . conscripted by a pirate, honor bound by a blood debt to a murderer, an unwilling slave owner, then embroiled in the beginnings of a war far beyond his private battle for justice.

By Honor Doomed, Volume One of The Chronicles of Dragonshead, is a tale of warring kingdoms, intrigue, conspiracy, love, lust, murder, magic, mystery, betrayal and revenge that will give George Martin fans something to warm their bones while waiting for The Winds of Winter (not to mention any Hope of Spring).

Aaron Stauffer was born and raised in California.  It only took him 36 years to make it to the Promised Land of beautiful Idaho.  It's still the desert, but one trip back east highlighted the fact that more water equals more bugs.  Aaron is a father of three children, happily living in the relatively insect-free high desert.  He's been writing fiction, mostly scripts, for over 30 years.  American Freefall is his first novel.

Prince Gareth thinks his coming of age ceremony will be mere pageantry, but during the celebration a dark family secret comes to light. A secret that leads to a suicide, a murder, and his exile. Now Prince Gareth must become the man he is proclaimed to be, or die.

Set in a post-apocalypse future, The Prince & the Jester follows Gareth as he flees across a nightmarish landscape. Mutant beasts, human-hating cyborgs, a horde of barbarians . . . nothing match the horror of what chases him.

The Jester, the king’s twin, hidden behind his painted face all these years because of a prophecy, is a man with dark powers. Gareth has stolen one of his objects of power, an ancient stone dubbed Demon’s Eye, and the Jester will not rest until he recovers it. Worse still, the insidious stone begins to twist his mind, and he faces a terrible decision. Using its powers might be the only way to save the last vestiges of civilization, but doing so might destroy everything.

The perfect society starts in the womb. With fetal scanning and genetic engineering, it is impossible for a psychopath to be born.

So it is quite the shock for Detective James Connelly when mutilated corpses keep showing up. Even more shocking is no one wants him to actually catch the killer as politicians have seized on the murders to tighten their authoritarian grip.

When Connelly discovers the identity of the next victim he must convince her to trust him, protect her from his own department and the killer, and keep himself alive.

Part thriller, part dystopian satire. It’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo meets American Psycho in 1984.

Roger Clines never thought his heavy drug use would impact his family or career, until his compulsive shoplifting catches the eye of a murderous villain who forces him deeper into the criminal world.

His list of crimes grows as his fight for survival takes him from California to New Jersey, with detours in Egypt, the longest cave in America, and the depths of his inner psyche.

While Roger is brutally honest with us, he dances with denial the entire journey.  And why not?  There’s always someone else to blame.
